New Delhi: President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Rabindra Narain Singh on Sunday said that the Ramjanmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra in Ayodhya would be developed on the lines Mecca and the Vatican City and would emerge as a symbol of Hinduism.
Singh was speaking during the bhoomipujan for the construction of Vishwa Hindu Jankalyan Parishad’s Vidarbha region office in the Dhantoli area of Nagpur, reports PTI.
While addressing a gathering of VHP office bearers and attendees, Singh said, “The Ram janmabhoomi teerth kshetra in Ayodhya would be developed on the lines of the Vatican City (the headquarters of the Roman Catholic church) and the Mecca (the holiest city of Islam). It would become a symbol of Hindutva.”
Singh accused the Christian missionaries of carrying out religious conversions by running hospitals and schools in tribal areas. He also appealed to the Muslim community to join Hindus in the service of the nation.
Religious & Cultural Freedom' Through Ram Temple Movement
In a separate event of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Surendra Jain, Joint General Secretary of VHP said that India got political freedom in 1947 but “religious and cultural freedom” through the Ram Temple movement.
While speaking during the launch of the book ‘Sab Ke Ram’, Singh said, “In 1947, India got its political freedom. But through the movement for the Ram Temple, we got our religious & cultural freedom. Secular politics has only divided the nation,” reported ANI.
During the book launch, the joint general secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Arun Kumar said the Ram Temple movement was a moment of “self-realisation” for Hindus.
“Ram Temple movement awakened the Hindu society and became a moment of self-realisation for the Hindus,” Kumar said.
