Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday revoked the suspension of Congress MP Rajani Patil from the House after a motion in the House. Reacting to it, Patil said that from now onwards she will work according to the dignity of the House. Notably, the Congress MP was suspended during the budget session earlier this year for tweeting a video from inside the House in which opposition lawmakers were seen protesting during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's response to the Motion of Thanks.

"I will now work according to the dignity of the House..," Patil said after her suspension was revoked by the Rajya Sabha Chairman.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar in February suspended Congress MP Rajani Patil for the remainder of the Budget Session for filming House proceedings. The Chairman took a 'serious view' on the matter calling it an 'unwholesome activity' on her side.

Later in April, the Chairman said that Patil's suspension from the upper house will continue as the Rajya Sabha committee has not submitted its report on the issue. Making the announcement on the last day of the Parliament's Budget session, Dhankhar said that Patil's suspension will continue till the report of the committee comes.

Earlier, reacting to her suspension, Congress MP Rajani Patil had said that she has been given 'faansi ki sazaa'.

"I did nothing like that but I have been given "faansi ki sazaa" even when I did nothing. I come from the family of freedom fighter, and my culture doesn't permit me to violate the law," she was quoted as saying by ANI.
