National Conference Vice-President and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah slammed the assertions of normality in Jammu and Kashmir, saying they deceive the people of the state, news agency ANI reported. He blamed the perceived lack of peace on the many clashes that occur around the region.
Speaking with media on the sidelines of a workers’ convention at Sumbal Bandipora, Abdullah stated: "The situation is not normal anywhere. The situation in Rajouri was normal earlier, we had freed Rajouri from terrorism to a large extent. I do not remember that during my rule."
His comments came after two army troops were killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Wednesday.
Last Rites Of Captain Pranjal Killed In Rajouri Encounter
A vast crowd paid their tributes to Captain MV Pranjal, who was killed during a shootout with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, amid moving circumstances, PTI reported. On Friday night, his lifeless remains were airlifted to Bengaluru and then to his parents' house in Anekal taluk near here.

The Army and the state administration offered Pranjal a guard of honour following a wreath-laying ceremony. His lifeless remains will be carried in procession to the Kudlu Gate crematorium for last rituals.
