New Delhi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assured that the central government is closely monitoring the situation in Afghanistan and asserted that it is alert and capable of dealing with any situation.
While addressing Late Balram Das Tandon Memorial Lecture organised by Panjab University on the issue of national security on Monday, the Union Minister said no anti-national force should be allowed to encourage terrorism from across the border by taking advantage of the developments in Afghanistan.

Defence Minister while speaking at the event said, "What is happening in neighbouring Afghanistan is raising new questions from the security point of view. Our government is constantly monitoring the situation there. Along with the security of Indians, our government also wants that anti-India forces do not promote terrorism from across the border by taking advantage of the situation being created there," he emphasised.
"We have some more concerns which can become challenges from the point of view of national security," Singh said, adding that the Modi-led government at the Centre is alert and capable of dealing with any situation.

Meanwhile, the Indian government is making all efforts to evacuate Indian nationals stranded in Taliban captured Kabul. India has till now evacuated hundreds of people from war-torn Afghanistan since the abrupt takeover of the country's governance by Taliban terrorists.
So far, India has airlifted 565 people from Afghanistan including citizens and embassy personnel. In a flight last week, Indian forces even airlifted dozens of Afghan Sikhs and Hindus. To ease the process, India opened the window of E-visas for the tenure of six months for Afghan nationals.
