New Delhi: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has lashed against the central government over the attack on farmers protesting against the central farm laws in Haryana.
Raut questioned the government and compared the attack to the 'Talibani mentality'.
"Attack on farmers is a shameful incident for the nation. This is a kind of Talibani mentality. How can this government say it is for the poor and for the farmers? It doesn't even hear farmers Mann ki Baat," said Raut according to an ANI tweet.
On Saturday Haryana police had lathi-charged farmers protesting in Karnal. After the scuffle between farmers and police on Saturday, a video of a top district official in Harayana asking policemen to crack the heads of protesters surfaced on social media, around 10 people were injured in the scuffle.
Despite the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar defending the police action, several leaders including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi condemned the attack likening the BJP-JJP government in Haryana to the "General Dyer government".
In the viral video, Karnal's Sub-Divisional Magistrate can be seen instructing few policemen that no protesters should go beyond a certain barricaded area.
While speaking to policemen, the SDM says, "It is very simple that no one should be allowed to reach there, whoever he is, wherever he is from. This is should not be breached at any cost. Just pick up your lathi and hit them hard. There is no need for any instruction on this, just hit them. If anyone comes here, I want to see his head cracked."
At the end of the conversation, the SDM can be heard asking "Any doubt?" To which the policemen responded, "No Sir"
After the viral video showing Karnal Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ayush Sinha’s instructing the police to “crack the head” of the protestors, Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait on Sunday said that the IAS officer is commander of ‘Sarkari Talibani’.
