Jaipur: A little over a month after being suspended from Rajasthan High Court administration, lower court judge Jitendra Singh on Wednesday was arrested by Bharatpur Police for allegedly sodomising a 14-year-old boy.
According to Bharatpur SP Devendra Kumar, the suspended judge was called for interrogation and was later arrested from Jaipur following requisite legal procedure.
"The interrogation and arrest were as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court," Kumar told news agency PTI.
Singh (52), posted as a special judge in a court handling corruption cases, was suspended on October 31 by the Rajasthan HC administration after the case was registered against him on charges of repeatedly sodomising, sexually assaulting a minor boy and also threatening his family members of implicating them in false cases.
The judge was arrested after an FIR was registered by the boy's mother under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act, alleging sodomy.
In the FIR, victim's mother has alleged that the special judge along with two others had been sexually assaulting her son by intoxicating him with some narcotic substance for the past one month.
She also alleged that the accused have threatened his son of dire consequences if he spoke about his ordeal. Other two accused were identified as Anshul Soni, the judge's steno, and Rahul Katara, another staff of the judge.
The victim's family members have also alleged that the DSP of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Parmeshwar Lal Yadav, had threatened to kill the boy.
However, the Home Department of the Rajasthan government has suspended the DSP soon after after the High Court administration suspended the judge.
The mother also claimed that the Judge met her son at a tennis court and after befriending him. He also allegedly made an obscene video with the child.
