The CLP meeting reportedly began at CM Gehlot's residence at about 1.30 PM amid a tussle for power between Gehlot and Deputy CM Sachin Pilot. The meeting was attended by 102 MLAs who, soon after the wrap up of the meet, were seen leaving from CM Gehlot's home to a resort in Jaipur on a bus.

According to the latest development, the CLP meet concluded with the party passing a resolution supporting Ashok Gehlot-led government.
The resolution passed at the meeting read, "the ripping off of democracy by Bharatiya Janata Party is an insult to 8 Crore people of Rajasthan. They'll not accept it. CLP meet expresses its confidence in Congress President Sonia Gandhi and leader Rahul Gandhi, and unanimously supports the government led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. "
It further urged that "strict disciplinary action be taken against any office-bearer or member of Legislative Party who indulges in activities against the Congress govt, party or gets involved in any conspiracy."

In the past weekend, the grand old party was on tenterhooks as news about internal strife in the Rajasthan government emerged. The rift between Pilot and CM Ashok Gehlot came to light after the latter accused the BJP government of plotting to topple his government in the state.
Gehlot claimed that while his government is busy battling the coronavirus the BJP is trying to poach Congress' MLAs. Gehlot alleged that the BJP, which is the main opposition in the state, was offering MLAs up to Rs 25 crore or "favours" to switch allegiances and help topple his government.
There are 200 seats in Rajasthan Assembly. 101 seats are needed for a majority. Congress has 107 MLAs. The BJP has 72 and the others have 21 MLAs. As per sources, at least 30 MLAs are in support of Pilot.
