Hours after announcing a protest outside Raj Bhavan across the country on Monday, Rajasthan Congress faction led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot later called off the agitation, claimed reports.

State Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasara said in a tweet, “Tomorrow, Congress workers will protest in front of Raj Bhawans as part of ‘Save Democracy-Save Constitution’ agitation call. But, in Rajasthan we will not do anything like that.”
On Sunday evening, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, CM Ashok Gehlot, State Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra along with several other Congress MLAs and leaders run a nationwide digital campaign 'Speak Up For Democracy' on social media to express their dismay against the Bharatiya Janata Party for brewing up a conspiracy to topple the government and in turn, harm the constitutional and democratic values of the country.
Through the digital camping, the Rajasthan congress announced to hold a nationwide protest on Monday outside Raj Bhavans to express their disagreement over Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra's delay in calling an Assembly Session in the state.
The leaders accused governor Mishra of resorting to "worst kind of democracy" by raising superficial queries to Gehlot over his demand of convening the state assembly session. They alleged that the Governor was under pressure from above not to summon a session, hinting that the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre was involved in the tussle for power in the state.
To protest against the BJP and governor, State Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra said: Tomorrow, under the "Save Democracy-Save Constitution" campaign, Congressmen will hold protest in front of Raj Bhavan in all the states of the country, but in Rajasthan will not do anything like this. We have sent a revised note to the cabinet and hope that he will approve the convening of the session soon.
Speaking on the same note of saving the democracy, CM Gehlot said "Today the entire country is worried because democracy is in danger. #SpeakUpForDemocracy program that has been run has its own message. This needs to be understood by the general public on the one hand and the people in the government on the other hand."
The Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in Rajasthan has been in major crisis ever since his deputy Sachin Pilot, who has been removed from his post in the government and Congress party, turned rebel with some MLA supporting him. The Gehlot government wants to hold the assembly session to prove the majority but their request to hold an urgent assembly session was turned down by state governor.
On Sunday, CM sent a fresh proposal to Mishra, requesting him to start the state assembly session to discuss bills. According to the reports, the proposed date is July 31 and the agency mentioned in the proposal is Coronavirus pandemic, not the 'floor test'.
