Jaipur (Rajasthan):  Ruling Congress out-muscled the BJP to win the Ramgarh assembly seat on Thursday. With the win, the party's tally, which is currently at 99, has risen to 100 in the House of 200 where RLD is supporting it with its one MLA.

Reports say the Congress won the Ramgarh Assembly seat with a margin of 12,228 votes as its candidate Shafia Zuber won 83,311 votes. BJP's Sukhwant Singh is trailing behind Zubair while BSP candidate and former union minister's son Jagat Singh, a former MLA, is trailing on third position.

The official results are not out yet since the counting of remaining votes is  still going on amid tight security arrangements. BJP has conceded defeat and the results are seen as a fresh setback to the saffron party which was dislodged by the Congress in the recent assembly elections.

As many as 20 candidates were pitted in the triangular contest between Congress, BJP and BSP.

The election to the assembly seat could not be held along with other constituencies due to the death of the BSP candidate ahead of December 7 Rajasthan elections.
