Rajasthan: 3 Killed, 6 Injured After Truck Rams Car On Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

Accident on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway claims life of three people of the same family, leaves 6 injured.

Three persons lost their lives and six including four children were injured after their vehicle was hit by a truck on the Delhi-Mumbai Express Highway in Rajasthan's Dausa on Sunday. According to reports, a family was travelling from Ahmedabad to Haridwar to complete last rites of their deceased mother when a speeding truck hit their vehicle near Bada Village. 

The police told ANI that a cow had come in front of their car so they stopped, and stood on the roadway. A truck came from behind and crushed three of them to death.

"A truck rammed them from behind, crushing three of them to death. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. Dead bodies have been kept in the mortuary of Bandikui Hospital," Duty Officer Jawan Singh told ANI. 

The bodies of the deceased individuals were identified as Hasmukh Patel, his wife Seemaben and one Mohan Bhai. Their bodies were transferred to the mortuary of Bandikui Sub District Hospital, the Bandikui police said in the report.

The injured individuals were admitted to the Dausa District Hospital for treatment. One of the victims, Neelam Makwara, said the family was travelling from Ahmedabad to Haridwar via car to immerse her mother's ashes when the truck hit the car.

The Delhi-Mumbai expressway is 1,350 km long and has eight lanes wide. It is still under construction which connects the national capital with Mumbai.
