New Delhi: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday responded to the Jahangirpuri violence matter saying that "such things should be answered in a similar manner."

"I think that such things should be answered in a similar manner, otherwise, those people will not understand," Raj Thackeray said, as quoted by news agency ANI.

Clashes broke out after stone-pelting incidents were reported from the Jahangirpuri area in the national capital on Saturday evening during Shobha Yatra.

Several vehicles were vandalised by miscreants and police officials were also attacked in the incident.

As per DCP North-West Usha Rangnani, nine persons including eight police personnel and one civilian were injured in the incident.

"One Sub-inspector sustained a bullet injury. His condition is stable," the DCP informed, as reported by ANI.

A total of 14 persons have been arrested so far in connection with the case

Notably, the MNS chief has also been raking up the issue of mosques using loudspeakers for prayers.

"We don't want riots in Maharashtra. No one has opposed the offering of prayers. But if you (Muslims) do it on loudspeaker, then we'll also use loudspeakers for it. Muslims should understand that religion is not bigger than the law. After May 3, I'll see what to do," he said.

As per ANI, Raj Thackeray will visit Ayodhya on June 5 and will hold his next public rally on May 1 in Aurangabad.

Shiv Sena leader and state minister Aaditya Thackeray will also be visiting Ayodhya in the first week of the month of May. He will go to the Ram Janambhoomi site during his one-day visit.

Atmosphere Being Deliberately Spoiled, Attempts To Jeopardise Peace In Maharashtra Through 'Hindu Owaisi': Sanjay Raut

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut also talked about the Jahangirpuri violence saying, "the atmosphere of the country is being deliberately spoiled to gain political advantage in elections. Such incidents never happened before on Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti, these festivals were celebrated peacefully."

Notably, clashes were reported in four states including West Bengal, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand on the occasion of Ram Navami.

"These incidents are pre-orchestrated and politically sponsored. It's being done to instigate Hindu-Muslim riots just because issues of Hindu-Pak, Surgical strikes, and Ram Mandir won't work," Sanjay Raut commented, as quoted by ANI.

He also alleged that there were attempts to jeopardise peace in Maharashtra "but people and police here are peaceful here." "Some people had mission to provoke riots in name of Ram and Hanuman through 'New Owaisi'... 'Hindu Owaisi' of the state... We won't let that happen," the Shiv Sena MP said in a dig at Raj Thackeray.

"I have not taken anybody's name...whatever work BJP made to do AIMIM's Owaisi to win UP elections, the same is being asked to do from Maharashtra's 'New Hindu Owaisi' by the BJP," he added.
