New Delhi: After Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Centre defended the newly passed agri laws in Lok Sabha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slammed the current dispensation over the ongoing farmers' protest at Delhi borders, saying these legislations will allow industrialists to buy unlimited quantity of foodgrains and hoard them. Extending his support to the ongoing farmers protests, Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha said that it was not an agitation of the farmers only but a movement of the country and the government will have to repeal the laws.

Before starting his speech in the Lower House, Rahul Gandhi led his party members and those from the TMC and the DMK to observe a two-minute silence by standing to mourn the death of "200 farmers" during the ongoing agitation.

He said he was doing this as the government has not paid tributes to those who died during the protests.

Later in his address, the former Congress President also cited the old family planning slogan 'hum do hamare do' to attack the government and said just only 4 people are running the country.

"There was a slogan for family planning 'Hum do hamare do'. Like Corona comes back in a different form, this slogan has come back in a different form. Nation is run by 4 people - 'Hum do hamare do'. Everyone knows their names. Whose govt is it, of 'hum do, hamare do'," he said.

Further attacking Narendra Modi over his speech in Lok Sabha on agri laws, Rahul Gandhi said: "Yesterday while addressing the House, PM said that the Opposition is talking about the agitation but not about the content and intent of Farm Laws. I thought I should make him happy today and speak on the content and intent of the laws."

"Intent of first law is to give one friend, the right to have all crops of India. Who'll be at loss? 'thelawalas', small businessmen & those working in the mandis. The intent of the second law is to help the 2nd friend. He keeps 40% of India's crops in his storage," he added.

Rahul Gandhi further said that yes the Prime Minister has given 3 options which are hunger, unemployment and sucide.
