Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that the country is trapped in a 'chakravyuh', which is represented by the Lotus symbol (of the BJP).

Speaking in the Lok Sabha today, the Leader of the Opposition said that India is trapped in a 'chakravyuh', which is represented by the Lotus symbol that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wears on his chest.

"Thousands of years ago, in Kurukshetra, six people trapped Abhimanyu in a 'Chakravyuh' and killed him... I did a little research and found out that 'Chakravyuh' is also known as 'Padmavuyh' - which means 'Lotus formation'. Chakravyuh is in the shape of a Lotus. In the 21st century, a new 'Chakravyuh' has been formed - that too in the form of a Lotus. Prime Minister wears its symbol on his chest," Rahul Gandhi said in the Parliament.

"What was done with Abhimanyu, is being down with India - the youth, farmers, women, small and mediums businesses... Today, too there are six people in the centre of 'Chakravyuh'...Six people control today too -Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Mohan Bhagwat, Ajit Doval, Ambani and Adani," he said.

After Speaker Om Birla's intervention, Gandhi added, "... If you want, I will omit the names of NSA, Ambani and Adani, and take just 3 names."

The Congress leader said that the 'Chakravyuh' that has captured India has 3 forces behind it- the idea of monopoly capital, government agencies like the CBI, Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax department and the political executive.

"The 'Chakravyuh' that has captured India has 3 forces behind it. 1) The idea of monopoly capital - that 2 people should be allowed to own the entire Indian wealth. So, one element of the 'Chakravyuh' is coming from the concentration of financial power. 2) The institutions, the agencies, CBI, ED, IT of this nation, 3) Political executive. These 3 together, are at the heart of 'Chakravyuh' and they have devastated this country," Gandhi said.

He said that the sole aim of the Union Budget 2024 was to strengthen the framework of monopoly business and of a political monopoly "that destroys the democratic structure and of deep state and the agencies."

He said that the youths have been trapped in the Agniveer 'chakravyuh' and there are no provisions in the Budget for the pension for Agniveers.

The Raebareli MP said that the Congress party will break down the 'Chakravyuh', which is harming crores of people. "The biggest way of doing this, one that scares you, is the Caste Census. Like I said that INDIA Alliance will pass guaranteed legal MSP in this House, similarly, we will pass Caste Census in this House, whether you like it or not," he added.

Attacking the BJP on the Union Budget, Rahul Gandhi said that among the 20 officers, who prepared the Budget, there was not one OBC, tribal or Dalit in the panel.

Showing a poster of the traditional Halwa ceremony, which is held at the Ministry of Finance before the Budget session, the Congress MP said, "Budget ka halwa' is being distributed in this photo. I can't see one OBC or tribal or a Dalit officer in this. Desh ka halwa bant raha hai aur 73% hai hi nahi. 20 officers prepared the Budget of India... Hindustan ka halwa 20 logon ne baatne ka kaam kiya hai. (The halwa of the country is being distributed and there is no 73% of the population. 20 people did the distribution of the 'halwa'.)"
