Rahul Gandhi ‘Never Had Sympathy’: Gujarat Minister Slams Cong MP's Visit, Asks Him To Meet TN Hooch Victims’ Kin
Rahul Gandhi on Saturday met the family members of the victims who lost their lives in various tragedies in Gujarat. He assured them to raise their grievances in Parliament.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Saturday met the bereaved family members of those who lost their lives in various tragedies in Gujarat, assuring them to raise their grievances in Parliament.
Those who met the Congress leader included victims of Rajkot's TRP game zone fire, Vadodara's boat capsizing incident, Morbi bridge collapse of 2022, and Una Dalit flogging case of 2016. The Congress leader also met and addressed Gujarat Congress workers at the party headquarters in Paldi area.
Taking a jibe at Rahul Gandhi over his Gujarat visit, state Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi said: "Rahul Gandhi did visit Gujarat during his political tour. There is no connection between Rahul Gandhi and sympathy. He never had sympathy in him. I pray to God to give him some sympathy."

Sanghvi also criticised Gandhi and I.N.D.I.A bloc partners, who are running the Tamil Nadu government, for not taking action in the various incidents that have happened in the southern state, the most recent one being the murder of BSP leader K Armstrong.
"He is good at mixing every issue with politics. Rahul Gandhi, along with his INDI alliance partners, is running Tamil Nadu govt. The way many people died by consuming illicit liquor, did he go to that place? He didn't speak a single word for them. Yesterday a BSP leader was killed in Tamil Nadu, did Rahul Gandhi utter a word for him? In Bengal, INDI alliance's govt is going on, a woman was mercilessly beaten up on road...did Rahul Gandhi utter a single word?" Sanghvi said.

Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani, who coordinated Gandhi's interaction with victims' families told news agency PTI, that he "interacted with the family members of victims, understood their issues, and promised that he will raise them in Parliament so that justice is done."
Narendra Parmar, who lost his ten-year-old daughter in the Morbi bridge collapse, said they have lost faith in the corrupt system in the BJP-ruled Gujarat.
"I told Gandhi that all the key accused are out on bail and court proceedings are going on at a very slow pace. We have lost our faith in this corrupt system. Even the company's MD is out on bail," he said.
