Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a full frontal attack on the BJP, saying that the BJP had not utilised the Army to its full potential, resulting the mass killings in Manipur. Speaking about the Manipur violence, Rahul Gandhi blamed the government, alleging that India had been murdered India in Manipur. "Aap Bharat mata ke rakhwale nahi ho. Aap Bharat mata ke hatyare ho. [You are the murderers of Mother India, not her protectors]," Gandhi said in his no-trust vote speech in Lok Sabha.

However, Speaker Om Birla took exception to the speech and asked him to refrain from using such statements. To this Rahul Gandhi replied that he was only talking about his murder.

"You [Centre] murdered India in Manipur. That's why the PM can't visit the state," Rahul Gandhi said. He said till the Centre is unable to stop the violence in Manipur, it would be equal to murdering Mother India. Gandhi took a dig at PM Modi: "PM Modi doesn't listen to India's voice... Raavan used to listen to just two persons — Meghnad and Kumbhakarna. Similarly, PM Modi listens to just Amit Shah and [Gautam] Adani."

Wednesday Congress became the second party to invoke Hanuman in Lok Sabha when Rahul Gandhi ended his no-confidence motion debate speech saying: "Lanka was not burnt by Hanuman. It was gutted by Raavan's vanity." Earlier, Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde had invoked the deity and recited Hanuman Chalisa on the floor of the House on Tuesday.

Rahul Gandhi also said that the BJP is supplying kerosene to the entire nation and had lit the spark in Manipur. "Now you are targeting Haryana and are plotting against the entire country."

Reacting to Gandhi's speech, BJP MPs started raising slogans in the House. Union minister Kiren Rijiju said Rahul Gandhi should apologise."Congress party is responsible for the militancy in Northeast. They killed northeast," the Union minister said.
