NEW DELHI: Congress President Rahul Gandhi called Prime Minister Narendra Modi's fitness video "bizarre" during the Iftar party he hosted in the national capital on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, the prime minister shared a video on his Twitter account, showing him meditating, walking on a track inspired by five elements of nature, and doing yoga exercises. Modi's one-and-a-half minute video comes nearly a month after he accepted the fitness challenge thrown by Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli.

While talking to leaders present at his iftar party, Gandhi termed Modi's fitness video as "bizarre". The Congress chief also asked other leaders if they have seen Modi's video or not.

In the video, wearing a black jogging dress, Modi is seen walking on a track created around a tree, doing stretching exercise and sitting on a rock for meditation. He is also seen balancing himself while walking on a narrow, circular track.

Gandhi on Wednesday hosted an iftar Party at a local luxury hotel which was attended by a host of leaders from various parties. Former Presidents Pranab Mukherjee and Pratibha Patil were also present during the iftar.

Mukherjee was seen conversing with Gandhi and several other senior Congress leaders. There was considerable disquiet in the Congress after Mukherjee accepted an invitation of the RSS to address its workers at Nagpur.

Former vice-president Hamid Ansari, CPIM chief Sitaram Yechuri, Badruddin Ajmal of Assam-based AIUDF, Former Jharkhand chief minister and JMM leader Hemant Soren, rebel JDU leader Sharad Yadav, Satish Mishra of BSP and Dinesh Trivedi from TMC also attended the event.

It was the Gandhi scion's first Iftar event after taking over the reins of the party. The Congress had given its Iftar ritual a miss in the last two years.
