New Delhi: Amid the ongoing rift between the Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu, speculations are rife that the party will have 4 interim presidents for the state.

Navjot Singh Sidhu is now in Delhi and a meeting underway with Sinoa Gandhi and Harish Rawat who had raised obbjection against Sidhu's leadership in Punjab Congress.

Sources have said that there will be more than 2 interim state party presidents in Punjab and the two names proposed by Capt Amarinder Singh are Santosh Choudhary and Vijay Singla.

According to sources, the AICC is likely to announce the new Party Chief of Punjab by late evening or tomorrow. The formula has also been given to appoint two working presidents with Sidhu. One will be a Dalit and the other a Hindu face. Punjab has a 57.69 percent sikh population while 38.49 percent are Hindus. Combining both religions, the Scheduled Castes constitute 31.94 percent of the people. The final decision will be taken only after Sidhu meets Sonia Gandhi.

However, senior Congress leaders are yet to say anything about Sidhu being made the President of the Punjab Congress. Congress Punjab in-charge Harish Rawat gave a befitting reply to the question after meeting Sonia Gandhi on Thursday evening. In response to the question of whether it was decided to make Sidhu the president, he said, "Who said... that he will be.. I said a decision has to be made around this."

Capt Amarinder Singh is unhappy

Captain Amarinder Singh has already had a meeting with Sonia Gandhi. So this is the last big meeting before the Punjab Congress ends the feud and appoints new faces, after which only orders will be issued. At the same time, the news of Sidhu being made the president has definitely increased the stir in the captain's camp. According to the news that is being received from the sources, Captain Amarinder Singh is angry and dissatisfied that Sidhu can be made the state president.
