Punjab Police on Tuesday released a few pictures of 'Waris Punjab De' chief Amritpal Singh in different attires and requested people to help them in his arrest. Addressing a press conference, Punjab IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill said the Khalistani leader was still on the run even though police have recovered the vehicle in which Singh fled.
"There are several pictures of Amritpal Singh in different attires. We are releasing all of these pictures. I request you display them so that people can help us to arrest him in this case," the Punjab IGP said.
The top police officer said four people were arrested for helping Amritpal Singh escape and Arms Act was invoked against them. Manpreet Singh alias Manna, Gurdeep Singh alias Deepa, Harpreet Singh alias Happy and Gurbhej Singh alias Bheja have been arrested for helping Amritpal Singh escape.
"The Brezza car, in which Amritpal Singh fled, has been recovered by the Police. He was helped by four people," ANI quoted Gill as saying. One rifle and other equipment was seized from the vehicle.
The IGP also said that after fleeing his village, Singh visited a gurudwara in Jalandhar district and changed his clothes. He also said that Singh switched from a car to motorcycle to escape arrest by police.

"Arms Act has been invoked against the four people who helped him. An important fact has come to light that Amritpal Singh, after fleeing, visited the Gurudwara in Nangal Ambian village. There he changed his clothes, and wore a shirt and pant, and escaped along with three others on two bikes," the Punjab IGP said.
So far, 154 people have been arrested and taken into custody. Around 12 weapons, including rifles and revolver, have been recovered, Punjab IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill said.
The top cop also said Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was monitoring the situation and taking regular feedback from police officers.
"Amritpal Singh has not been arrested yet. We are making all efforts to arrest him. We're hopeful that we'll arrest him soon. Punjab Police is receiving full cooperation from other states and central agencies," he said.
The Punjab Police on Saturday launched a major crackdown against Amritpal and members of his outfit Waris Punjab De. A non-bailable warrant has also been issued against the Khalistan sympathiser and the stringent National Security Act (NSA) has been invoked against him.
The radical preacher, however, gave the police the slip when his cavalcade was intercepted in Jalandhar district.
