A live bomb was discovered in the parking lot of Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib in Punjab's Tarn Taran on Friday (April 21). The police are on the scene, and an investigation is being conducted. On Friday, a tea vendor in the area was cleaning up when he noticed the bomb. He immediately notified the gurdwara's staff, who then notified the police. The police evacuated the area and notified the bomb disposal squad.
"A grenade was found in the car parking of a gurdwara in Tarn Taran. Gurdwara servitors found the grenade and alerted the police. After receiving the info, we immediately reached the spot, evacuated everyone from the premises, and informed the bomb disposal squad:" ASI Karnail Singh was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI.
The bomb disposal team has arrived. The entire vicinity is being searched.

The news comes just one day after five army personnel were killed in a terror attack in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced on Friday that the state government will make an ex-gratia of one crore to the families of four Army personnel killed in the attack.
Following a terrorist attack on an army truck on Thursday, a massive cordon and search operation has been launched in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. The terrorist attack on the military vehicle killed five soldiers and seriously injured another.
According to media reports citing official sources, the truck was hit by over two dozen bullets from all sides, indicating that the attack was carried out by several terrorists. According to the Army, the vehicle carrying the soldiers, all of whom were from the Rashtriya Rifles unit deployed for counter-terrorism operations, was fired on by terrorists around 3 p.m. and later caught fire due to a possible grenade attack.
