Punjab: The political parties have pulled up their socks for the forthcoming Punjab elections, as the preparations for have begin in all three major parties namely BJP, Congress and AAP in full swing, and all three parties are set to address public rallies on Friday.


 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Punjab on Friday to lead the election campaign of the Akali-BJP coalition. He will address a rally in Jalandhar on Friday and another in Ludhiana on January 29.

Besides, Union Ministers Arun Jaitley, Ramlal, Narendra Tomar and Avinash Rai Khanna will campaign for the BJP candidates. The BJP's Punjab manifesto focuses on implantation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

The manifesto focuses on physical infrastructure, poverty elimination, education and health care. The BJP's manifesto for Punjab includes free education till PhD for girls belonging to economically weaker sections and job for every family.

Even Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will be on a three-day visit to Punjab from Friday. He is scheduled to launch his own poll campaign, targeting among other constituencies those represented by the Badals.

Also, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who is so far the face of Aam Aadmi Party for the Punjab polls will be travelling to Punjab and address a rally on the same day PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi.

Punjab will vote on February 4 and the counting will take place on March 11.
