New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal said that Pathankot and Gurdaspur have the highest number of youth joining the Indian Army and that these two districts have the highest number of soldiers martyred for the country.

Addressing the public at the Tiranga Yatra in Pathankot, Kejriwal said that schools in Delhi are very famous in the US and if the Aam Aadmi Party is voted to power in Punjab, people from the US, Canada and London will come to the state to see the government schools here and cite their example.

Speaking further, the Delhi Chief Minister said that every child born in Punjab would be given good and free education if AAP forms the government. He also promised to convince all the teachers and professors in the state to resolve all the issues pertaining to education. Kejriwal said, "I promise the people of Punjab that if we are voted to power, we will build a large number of government schools in the state."

Citing the example of Delhi, Kejriwal said, "If any soldier from Delhi dies on the border, we give a compensation of Rs 1 crore to the kin of the martyr. The same compensation will be paid to the families of the martyrs from here if we are voted to power in Punjab."

The AAP convener also promised 300 units of free power and 24-hour electricity supply if his party forms the government in Punjab. He had earlier promised free treatment in government hospitals, medicines, and an incentive of Rs 1,000 to women per month.
