Punjab Congress Rift: Four Punjab ministers and three Congress MLAs met Harish Rawat on Wednesday amid a ruckus over the controversial statement made by the advisor of Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu. Punjab in-charge Harish Rawat then spoke to the media and said that they conveyed their concerns and said they were worried about the party's victory in the state.

Rawat further said that those MLAs and ministers said they are not against anyone and want to go with a clear roadmap for victory next year.

The Punjab Congress in-charge further said that they also had some complaints regarding the working style of the state and district administrations. "If a Congress MLA feels insecure and if he thinks the administration is weakening him by working against him then it is a matter of serious concern," Rawat said.

After a meeting with Punjab ministers and MLAs, Rawat said there is no threat to the party or the government. "There is no danger to our victory either. These are the people who will pave the way for our victory. This will be resolved," he said.

It may be recalled that Congress leaders met Punjab Congress in-charge Harish Rawat in Dehradun Uttarakhand on Wednesday. The political circles of Punjab have witnessed a tremendous tug of war within the party ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.

Even earlier, there was a hue and cry over the Congress Punjab President's appointment and now the demand from party leaders to change the CM is gaining momentum.
