New Delhi: Around 20 LPG cylinders exploded near Gandharv Lawns in the Katraj area of Pune, Maharashtra. According to the information provided on Pune Municipal Corporation's Twitter handle, PMC's fire brigade department has managed the fire and one individual has suffered minor injuries.
According to preliminary information, firefighters rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident.
"Some 15 to 20 LPG cylinders exploded due to the fire. The man received minor injuries. We got a call at around 5 pm and the blaze was doused in 20-25 minutes," an official said as reported by news agency PTI.
The fire was brought under control by the fire brigade. However, the incident has caused a stir in the area. The sudden outbursts had caused panic among the citizens. The blast was so loud that the sound could be heard up to 2 km away.
About 100 LPG cylinders were illegally kept together near Gandharva Lawns in Katraj area of Pune. Suddenly there was an explosion in one cylinder followed by another explosion in about 20 cylinders.

Six fire engines of Pune Municipal Corporation reached the spot and the fire was brought under control. One person sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Earlier on Monday, a house caught fire when an LPG cylinder exploded in Ranjit Nagar area of Delhi. Two teenagers were burnt in the incident.
