An encounter broke down between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Padgampora, Pulwama on early Thursday morning. As per sources, at least 2-3 terrorists were holed up inside a house and the gunshots could be heard in the area.
According to the security forces, a tip-off was received by them that a few terrorists have been hiding in a house, post which a probe was launched, and the area was cordoned off.
Why was operation initiated late in the night?
Also, the operation was initiated late in the night deliberately to avoid the people coming out of their house and avoid stone-pelters from creating a hindrance in the operation.
As per the security officials, the moment they got close to the suspected house, the terrorists initiated firing and thereafter the fire broke down from both the sides.
The security officials also said that there could be a possibility that around six people are hiding in the house.

The incident comes a day after a terrorist was gunned down in Bhopal, suspecting him to be behind the Bhopal train blast.
