Puja Khedkar News: Trouble for Puja Khedkar's father Dilip Khedkar has mounted as the Pune Police registered a fresh case against him. According to ABP News sources, the case was registered at the Bund Garden police station based on a complaint of 'obstructing government work'.
A police source said that the complaint against Dilip Khedkar was registered on Wednesday. Dilip Khedkar, a former civil servant, is already facing an inquiry in a disproportionate assets case. During his tenure in service, he was suspended twice over allegations of corruption.
Puja Khedkar Case: Latest Developments
Puja Khedkar, who is facing action for allegedly forging documents to bag an OBC quota to get an edge in the UPSC examination, on Thursday moved the Delhi High Court for a pre-arrest bail. She was earlier banned for life from appearing in any UPSC examination. She is also accused of demanding privileges such as a personal car and a personal accommodation with staff, before even the completion of her probation. Such privileges are not available to junior officers.
Puja Khedkar's anticipatory bail plea was rejected by a sessions court on August 1, pending a "thorough investigation". The court said that "custodial interrogation" was necessary to determine the veracity of the allegations.
Puja Khedkar, however, has claimed that she is being targeted with media trial and witch-hunt, an argument the court rejected as there was ample material to warrant a thorough probe.
Puja Khedkar's mother Manorama is also facing police action for allegedly threatening people at gunpoint. The case against Manorama Khedkar was registered after a video of her brandishing a gun to threatened some farmers over the occupation of a plot went viral.
