New Delhi: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday joined the league of women posting pictures draped in a saree, following the hashtag #SareeTwitter.

The hashtag has been trending since Monday with more and more women adding their pictures wearing the nine-yard-long Indian attire.

Celebrities and politicians have been sharing their pictures alike, following the hashtag.

Priyanka Gandhi shared her image in an orange saree from her wedding day 22 years ago.

“Morning puja on the day of my wedding (22 years ago!) #SareeTwitter,” the Congress leader wrote on Twitter.

Former Congress leader, Priyanka Chaturvedi, now in Shiv Sena, had also shared pictures of her in saree on Monday.  “Because #SareeTwitter & I cannot miss tweeting with this hashtag :),” she wrote on the micro-blogging website.

BJP’s Nupur Sharma also joined the league. “Here comes a trend I can completely relate to! #SareeTwitter”, she tweeted.

Actor turned politician Nagma also tweeted a picture of her wearing a saree and wrote: “Saree dipicts our Indian tradition and culture. It is also supposed to be known as our sexiest costume. One looks dignified , elegant, beautiful , graceful and yet can seem very appealing in it #SareeTwitter.”
