Lucknow. During the Corona period, the people of the country are facing a double whammy of inflation. From petrol and diesel to edible oil and pulses, everything has become expensive. The Modi government at the Center is on the target of opposition parties due to the ever-increasing inflation. Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has also taken the Modi government to task about inflation. In a tweet on Friday, she said that the Modi government is pickpocketing people.


Priyanka Gandhi said, "In the midst of the Corona crisis, the public hoped that the government would give them relief, but the government has come up with a "hurt plan" for them. Petrol and diesel prices have gone up 52 times in 2021. The prices of mustard oil, refined, tur, moong dal, and sugar are on fire. People are  while the Modi government is cutting their pockets."


Rising oil prices
Petrol and diesel prices are increasing continuously in the country. Petrol has become costlier by 23-27 paise per liter and diesel by 27-30 paise per liter in four major metros of the country today (June 18, 2021). The price of petrol has increased by 27 paise and diesel by 28 paise per liter in Delhi. Petrol in Delhi has become Rs 96.93 per liter and diesel Rs 87.69 per liter.


The effect of an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel can be seen on vegetables and other food items. In many places in the country, vegetables like onion, peas, and cucumber have increased by Rs 15 to 20 per kg. Onion sold in vegetable markets for Rs 25 is now selling at Rs 40 per kg. Earlier, the price of peas was Rs. 60 to 70 per kilogram, but it has now gone from Rs. 80 to Rs. 90 per kilogram.
