New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the joint session of the parliament on Thursday morning. Kovind in his speech lauded central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their efforts to improve the financial and social conditions in the nation. While addressing the parliamentarians President said "New government's main objective was to build a secure nation". He shared the vision and agendas of new government in front of the two houses. He also thanked the voters for coming out in large numbers and electing a government with full majority.


As a custom, President addresses both the houses in parliament after formation of new Lok Sabha.




Map of way to ‘new India’ to be presented:

It is being expected that Kovind will present PM Modi’s ideology of formation of new India by 2022, where issues like farm, daily wages, safety and foreign policy will be discussed.
















After half-an-hour of President’s speech, both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will resume and both the houses will be adjourned till Friday.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to present budget on July 5:

Even the Rajya Sabha session will begin starting Thursday, whereas Lok Sabha session began on June 17. This session of parliament will go on till July 26. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present her Economic Survey on July 4 and the Union Budget will be presented on July 5.

PM Modi to host dinner for all parties today:

PM Modi is hosting all members of parliament over dinner on Thursday. The dinner is set to take place at Hotel Ashoka at 7pm. This will be first time PM Modi will be meeting all the MPs after formation of new government. This comes a day after PM Modi called an all party meeting to discuss one nation one election.
