In pre-GST sales, ACs are available at discounts ranging between 10 to 40 percent. Apparel is offered at almost half of its value. Paytm has also launched its clearance sale.
Bajaj Auto has announced a reduction in prices of its motorcycles by up to Rs 4,500. Car manufacturers are also offering discounts between Rs 25,000 to Rs 60,000 to clear their inventory. Mercedes-Benz India has also reduced prices by up to Rs 7.5 lakh.
- iPhone 7 (32 GB), earlier priced at Rs. 60,000, is now offered at Rs. 40,000.
- HP gaming laptop is selling at Rs. 65,000, which is Rs. 20,000 less than it's original price.
- Cannon 5D Camera is being sold at a discounted price of Rs. 2,65000. It was earlier priced at Rs. 3,25,000.
- Prices of items like LED televisions have also been slashed up to 50 per cent. TVs which were priced at Rs. 1,00,000 are now offered at Rs. 50,000.
- Carmakers are also doling out lucrative offers. Hyundai, Mahindra, Ford and Maruti Suzuki are offering discounts of up to Rs. 60,000.
- Apparel brands have also slashed prices up to 40 per cent and offering promotional offers.
- Online retail giants Amazon and Flipkart have reduced prices of products in segments ranging from fashion, mobile accessories, home appliances, watches, beauty products etc.
- Paytm has a 'Pre-GST Sale' going on, hosting over 6,000 retailers across more than 500 brands. Consumers can get discounts and cashback on a range of product categories like TV, laptops, mobile phones, ACs, refrigerators, DSLRs and footwear, among other items. Paytm is giving up to 15 per cent on budget smartphones.
ShopClues, which has about five lakh merchants on its platform, said it is organising seller summits in different cities, sending regular updates to merchants through mails and updating GST related information on its seller portal.
