New Delhi: The daily rise in prices of essential commodities is worrying the common people and the opposition leaders are leaving no stone unturned to target the Modi government for the hike in rates of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attacked the centre by calling the government schemes "Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan LOOT Yojana"

Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and shared a picture that compared the prices of fuel for a full tank in different vehicles before the BJP government and in 2022.

Opposition is also trying to corner the government in the ongoing Budget Session by creating uproar demanding a discussion on fuel price hike in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

On Monday, the rates of petrol and diesel in the country increased for the twelfth time in the last two weeks. Oil companies Monday hiked petrol and diesel prices by 40 paise a litre, taking the total increase in rates to Rs 8.40 per litre.
