Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged all the MPs to call him Modi instead of 'Modi Ji'. "Don't distance me from the public by making me 'Modi ji'. "I am Modi," he said. Speaking during the Bharatiya Janata Party Parliamentary Party meeting, PM Modi said that the victories registered by the saffron party in the three Hindi heartland states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan were not anyone's personal victory but a collective victory.
PM Modi said that this was not anyone's personal victory but a collective victory. The PM added, "Don't distance me from the public by making me 'Modi ji'. "I am Modi," he said.
During the meeting, PM Modi said the victories in elections were the result of the hard work of all the party workers. He also said that all BJP MPs and ministers have to participate in the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra from December 22 to January 25.
On Thursday, PM Modi was greeted with slogans by treasury benches as he entered the Rajya Sabha during the Question Hour. He attended the Question Hour proceedings every Thursday, the day when queries related to the departments he handles are listed. Soon after PM Modi entered the upper house, members of the BJP greeted him by clapping and thumping their desks.
According to news agency PTI, some members also started raising slogans like "BJP guarantee, Modi guarantee" and "Teesri baar, Modi Sarkar" as he assumed his seat next to BJP MP Piyush Goyal. BJP president J P Nadda was also present in the upper house during the Question Hour.
