Stressing on the importance of being careful instead of being complacent since the lockdown has ended, he talked about the increasing number of tests being conducted in the nation and the vaccines under trial.

"Till there is vaccine found for Coronavirus pandemic, we cannot compromise our battle against it. After several decades, we are witnessing that the entire world is striving to protect humanity as many countries are working for it (the vaccine)," PM Modi said.

"Indian scientists are also relentlessly working for developing a vaccine. Several vaccines are under trial, certain candidates are in an advanced stage and give a sense of hope," he added.

The Prime Minister revealed how the union government is working to create a system for the vaccine to reach each and every individual in the country.

"Whenever a vaccine is finally developed, the government is preparing to ensure that it reaches each and every Indian as soon as possible. The work (in this regard) is proceeding speedily," the PM revealed.

PM Modi reiterated his call for "Jab tak dawai nahi tab tak dhilaayi nahi" meaning "Till there is no medicine/vaccine, the can be no negligence". He wished that the joy of the festive season not be marred by people's carelessness. Hence, it is important to practice social distancing norms, wear a mask whenever one steps out and follow other such necessary precautions.
