New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday visited a hospital in Kolkata to inquire about the health of the President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Srimat Swami Smaranananda ji Maharaj.
In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi expressed concern and prayed for his quick recovery.
"Upon reaching Kolkata, went to the hospital and enquired about the health of the President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Srimat Swami Smaranananda ji Maharaj. We are all praying for his good health and quick recovery," the prime minister posted.
On Monday, PM Modi took to social media to pray for Swami Smaranananda's good health.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister acknowledged that the President of the Ramakrishna Mission is a guiding light for many through his teachings.
"I pray for the good health and speedy recovery of the President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Srimat Swami Smaranananda ji Maharaj. His teachings and spiritual guidance are a beacon of light for many, and his contributions to our society's spiritual growth and well-being cannot be overstated," the Prime Minister said in a post on X.
Meanwhile, PM Modi will inaugurate India's first underwater metro tunnel in Kolkata on March 6 (Wednesday). The metro tunnel built under the Hooghly River is part of the Kolkata Metro's East-West corridor and connects Howrah Maidan to Esplanade.
While the inauguration is scheduled for tomorrow, the passenger services will commence at a later date.
