New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the ‘Griha Pravesham’ ceremony of 5.21 lakh beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojna- Gramin in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, March 29 at 12:30 pm via video conferencing. 


Post the ceremony, the Prime Minister will also address the gathering on the occasion. 


News agency ANI reported, “PM Modi will participate in ‘Grih Pravesham’ of about 5.21 lakh beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana - Gramin in Madhya Pradesh on 29th March at 12:30 PM via video conferencing. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.”


According to a press release by the Prime Minister’s Office, “It has been a constant endeavour of the Prime Minister to provide a pucca house with all basic amenities to every needy family of the country and this marks yet another step in this direction.”


The event will be witnessed by traditional celebrations using conch, lamp, flowers, and rangoli being organised in the newly built houses in Madhya Pradesh. 


The PMAY-G has been implemented in Madhya Pradesh with many unique and innovative steps like training thousands of masons, including women masons using fly ash bricks. 


It also worked on empowering women's self-help groups (SHGs) by providing them loans for centering material and using technology for better execution and monitoring of projects. 


According to a report by news agency PTI, 24.10 lakh houses have been built under the PMAY-G scheme in Madhya Pradesh. 


Among these 23,000 houses are for people from the Baiga, Saharia, and Bharia tribal communities.
