New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with beneficiaries at select Fair Price Shops in Uttar Pradesh through a video conference today under the Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana. Additional Food Commissioner Anil Kumar Dubey said that ration distribution under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana, will start from August 5, and 'Ann Mahotsav' will be organized on the same day. PM Modi tweeted that the scheme has benefited about 150 million people.


PM Modi will interact with beneficiaries from these cities


PM Modi will interact with the beneficiaries present at select fair price shops in Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Moradabad, Hamirpur, Ayodhya, Barabanki, Shahjahanpur, Kaushambi, Agra, and Bahraich through video conference in this regard. He said necessary instructions have been issued to all district magistrates of the state, Managing Director of State Food and Essential Commodities Corporation, Divisional Food Controller and District Supply Officers in this regard.



Door step delivery of the ration


Dubey said that the procurement of foodgrains allocated for distribution under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana will be ensured by the Marketing Branch of the Food Department and the Food Corporation of India by the Uttar Pradesh State Essential Commodities Corporation until July 31. He said that it is the responsibility of every District Supply Officer and District Food Marketing Officer to ensure that foodgrains are available at each fair price shop, doorstep delivery, and proper pricing is done by the seller himself through self procurement.


Attendance of at least 100 beneficiaries will be ensured


The Additional Commissioner informed that during 'Ann Mahotsav', at least 100 beneficiaries will be present, and the covid protocol will be followed at each fair price shop. Some beneficiaries will receive ration for the first time under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana. He said that there will be a television set at every fair price shop so that everyone present can watch the broadcast.
