Noida: The foundation stone for Noida's proposed Jewar airport, known to be Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream project, will be laid next month. After this event, development work for this airport would begin at top gear.
According to Nand Gopal Gupta, Cabinet Minister of the Civil Aviation Department of Uttar Pradesh, the proposed Jewar airport will be the largest airport not only in the country but also in all of Asia. The foundation stone would be laid by PM Narendra Modi. The date for this event is yet to be finalised, which would depend on the PM's schedule for the month of September.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will also be present at the foundation stone laying ceremony.
Gupta also said that the aviation services have developed a lot in UP under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath. "UP has now become a premier state in the nation, when it comes to aviation services. The number of air passengers in the state has increased by more than twice," Gupta told ABP News adding that the entire world would admire the grandeur and technological advancement of Jewar Airport when it is unveiled.
Further hitting out at the Opposition, Gupta said Jewar Airport was always considered as an election issue when Samajwadi Party or BSP was in power. "The issue was bought forward by these parties only when elections were around the corner. BJP has eliminated all hurdles that lay in the way of Jewar Airport's construction. The required land has been completely acquired and handed over to the respective development contractor," the minister added further.
