New Delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai during the inauguration of Collins Aerospace Global Engineering & Tech Centre in Bengaluru said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 14th edition of Aero India, which is scheduled to take place from February 13 to 17, 2023 in Bengaluru, reported the news agency PTI.


Known as one of the top aerospace exhibitions, Aero India has held 13 successful editions so far in Bengaluru since 1996.


It is a five-day event and it will be held at Air Force Station Yelahanka. Defence Ministry's senior officials recently met Bommai with regard to issues related to Aero India 2023.


The team also took up the responsibility of on-site assessment of the Air Force Station. Along with assessment, it also expedited the planning and execution of this mega event.

CM Bommai said that Aero India is an international event hence aerospace companies within the state should make good use of this platform to showcase their work and opportunities. He said that Indian engineers are exceptionally talented and it is one of his dreams to have a facility in Bengaluru which will be capable of manufacturing all components of these.


He added that Bengaluru is the perfect place for the aerospace sector as institutions like DRDO, NAL, and HAL are already present here. In addition, Bengaluru is home to top-tier R&D facilities for aerospace, AI, renewable energy, and semiconductors.


Bommai said that this institution is becoming a significant engineering centre based on its achievements. Collins Aerospace Engineering Institution has successfully completed 25 years of its existence which proves that its achievements are worth noting. Collins Aerospace manufactures is known for assembling test commercial aircraft products.
