Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off metro trains, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects in Pune on August 1. The Prime Minister will visit Maharashtra's Pune on August 1 where he will perform darshan and puja at Dagdusheth Mandir at around 11 AM. After the puja, he will be presented with the Lokmanya Tilak National Award at around 11:45 AM. PM Modi will also inaugurate the Waste to Energy Plant which was developed under Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) at a cost of about Rs 300 crores. He will then hand over more than 1,280 houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana by PCMC, said a release from the Prime Minister's Office.
The Prime Minister is then scheduled to flag off metro trains and inaugurate various development projects at around 12:45 PM. The flagging-off of metro trains will mark the inauguration of services on completed sections of the two corridors of Pune Metro Phase I. The sections for which the trains will be flagged off are from Phugewadi station to Civil Court station and Garware College station to Ruby Hall Clinic station. The foundation stone for this project was laid by PM Modi in 2016. The new sections will connect important places of Pune city like Shivaji Nagar, Civil Court, Pune Municipal Corporation office, Pune RTO and Pune Railway Station.

Handing over 1,280 houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is in line with PM Modi's mission of 'Housing for All,' read the release from the PMO. He will also hand over more than 2,650 PMAY houses constructed by Pune Municipal Corporation.
He will then be laying the foundation stone of around 1190 PMAY houses that will be constructed by PCMC, and of over 6400 houses that will be constructed by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority.
