Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit be visiting Madhya Pradesh on Saturday where he will attend a public programme in Shahdol at 3:30 pm and launch the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission. During the visit, he will also distribute sickle cell genetic status cards to the beneficiaries. The Prime Minister will also kickstart the distribution of about 3.57 crore Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) cards in Madhya Pradesh, as per a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).


The ceremony for the distribution of 3.57 crore Ayushman cards is being organised at Urban bodies, Gram panchayats and Development Blocks across the state. The statement read that this campaign "is a step towards realising the Prime Minister's vision of reaching out to every beneficiary to ensure 100 percent saturation of welfare schemes."





The PMO further said that during this programme in Shahdol, the Prime Minister will also honour Rani Durgavati, the ruling queen of Gondwana in the mid-16th century. She is still to date remembered as a brave, fearless and courageous warrior who fought against the Mughals for freedom, the statement mentioned.

After the event, PM Modi in a unique initiative will visit Pakaria village of Shahdol district in the evening at around 5 PM and interact with the leaders of tribal community, Self-Help Groups, leaders of PESA [Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act, 1996] committees and Captains of Village Football Clubs. 


The programme comes after Prime Minister Modi's visit to Shahdol was postponed earlier this week due to a heavy rain prediction.


On Tuesday, he flagged off five Vande Bharat Express at a public programme organised at Rani Kamalapati Railway Station in Bhopal. The five Vande Bharat trains are Rani Kamalapati-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express, Khajuraho-Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat Express, Madgaon (Goa)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express, Dharwad-Bengaluru  Vande Bharat Express, and Hatia-Patna Vande Bharat Express.
