New Delhi: In his first foreign visit this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit three different countries in Europe with 25 engagements in which he will be spending 65 hours, government sources told news agency PTI on Saturday. The three-day visit of PM Modi to Germany, Denmark, and Paris will begin on May 2.
As per PTI, he will hold bilateral as well as multilateral meetings with eight world leaders from seven countries. He will also interact with 50 global business leaders during this visit. Besides world leaders and business leaders, he will also interact with thousands of members of the Indian community.
The Prime Minister’s visit will begin on May 2 and he will spend one night each in Germany and Denmark. He will then make a brief stop in Paris during his return journey on May 4.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Europe comes amid the Ukraine-Russia crisis which has united the whole of Europe against Russia, PTI reported.
This is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first international visit this year, a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs said.
The statement further added that the Prime Minister will interact with German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz in Germany, Danish PM Mette Frederiksen in Denmark, and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris.
“In Berlin, Prime Minister will hold bilateral talks with H.E. Mr. Olaf Scholz, Federal Chancellor of Germany, and the two leaders will co-chair the sixth edition of the India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC). The biennial IGC is a unique dialogue format that also sees the participation of several Ministers from both sides,” the statement said about the German bilateral meeting of the PM.
“On his return journey on 04 May 2022, Prime Minister will briefly stop over in Paris and meet H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of France. India and France are celebrating 75 years of their diplomatic relations this year and the meeting between the two leaders will set a more ambitious agenda of the Strategic Partnership,” it further said about the Paris visit.
