After meeting with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Telangana CM KCR on Saturday hits out at the centre over the service ordinance row, and demanded that "PM Modi must withdraw the ordinance," news agency ANI reported.
In a joint press conference with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, KCR stated: "This time is worse than the days of emergency, you (Centre) are not allowing a govt elected by people, to function."
"You are not able to even honour the Supreme Court judgement. Not honouring a Supreme Court order means that your journey is towards Emergency," he said.
Subsequently, KCR took a jibe at the Prime Minister by labeling him as a "merchant of apology" and urged him to rescind the ordinance similar to the three agriculture bills and land acquisition regulation.
"We demand the Prime Minister must withdraw the ordinance or else we all will support Kejriwal Ji. We will stand by him. We will use all our strength in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to defeat the ordinance. Unnecessarily, don't make this an issue. Let the people's elected government work," Rao stated.
CM Kejriwal expressed appreciation to KCR for extending assistance in seeking redress for the inhabitants of Delhi.
"This is not just about Delhi, but about saving the democracy of the nation...his(KCR) support has provided a lot of strength to us," Kejriwal stated.
Arvind Kejriwal along with other AAP leaders have been traveling around the nation to gain support in defeating the BJP-led Center's ordinance on the transfer and posting of officers. This ordinance undermines a crucial victory in the Supreme Court for the Aam Aadmi Party, which granted it control over the bureaucracy. When tabled in the Rajya Saha as a bill, defeating it will be a major priority for the party.
