New Delhi: Congress leader and Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot targetted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah over the recent violence the country faced during various festivals. Gehlot questioned why the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has not ordered a proper probe into the riots that seven states are currently facing. He further stated that Narendra Modi is ruling the country on the basis of religion and the Prime Minister of India should become an 'RSS pracharak', Gehlot says that RSS and the BJP should merge considering how the two have the same ideology, he said in an interview with ANI.
While speaking with ANI, Gehlot said, “I had asked the Union Home Minister Amit Shah with all seriousness as a Chief Minister, to conduct a probe into the ongoing riots because it will help bring out the truth. It takes all the states to be together to make India and if a member of the federal system says something it has a certain value.”
He further added, “If the Home Minister orders a probe with the help of a retired Judge of the Supreme Court or of the High Court we will be able to prevent riots in the future by knowing the root cause and who is behind it, if it is a political party behind it, if it is based on religion or if there is another conspiracy between India and other countries”. He asked, “What is the harm in it? Why isn’t the Home Minister showing the courage for it?”
Speaking about the Prime Minister, Gehlot said, “About the prime minister, I’ll repeat again, he is the prime minister of the country, the people of the country listen to him, whether we like it or not. But the way he is conducting politics is based on religion, and when people get together based on religion this makes it dangerous politics.”
He said that the theme of his party (Bharatiya Janata Party) and the agenda of RSS are the same. Gehlot added that a worker of the RSS is the prime minister of the country, which is something they should accept. “I think the RSS and BJP should merge and fight together, I think we (Congress) would prefer that. I believe that their nationalism is based on deceit, ours is based on the betterment of the country ”
