New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds a meeting with UP BJP leaders and ministers in Lucknow on Monday night in the house of the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. However, official details are yet to be released, news agency PTI reported.


The prime minister was recieved at the Lucknow airport by Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.


Taking to Twitter, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said, "Warm welcome and greetings to you in the holy city of Sheshavatar Lord Shri Laxman ji, Lucknow."






Yogi Adityanath also shared a photo of Prime Minister Modi and the entire Uttar Pradesh cabinet on Twitter.






A group photo of the Prime Minister and UP ministers was also posted by the state's communications department. PM Modi can be seen seated between Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and Yogi Adityanath in the photo.


Before arriving in Lucknow, the prime minister paid a visit to the Mahaparinirvana shrine at Kushinagar.


He had earlier in the day attended a Buddha Purnima celebration in Lumbini, Nepal.


During his day-long visit, the Prime Minister gave a special address at the Lumbini Development Trust's Buddha Jayanti festivities.


He compared the links between the two neighbours to the Himalayas, saying that their growing friendship and closeness will benefit all mankind in the coming global scenario.


"India and Nepal's ever-strengthening friendship and our closeness will benefit the entire humanity in the kind of global conditions that are emerging," PM Modi said.
