New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took to Twitter to hail President Ram Nath Kovind's address to Parliament, saying "it talked about India's developmental strides and reflected the collective vision of 130 crore Indians to take the nation to newer heights in the times to come."
Earlier today, President Ram Nath Kovind made a joint address to both Houses of the Parliament ahead of the Budget Session of 2022-23 on February 1. In his 50-minute address to both Houses, President Kovind talked about various topics. He said women empowerment is one of the top priorities of the government.
President Kovind asserted that improvement in nation's internal security, record procurement of farm produce and government's response to dreaded Coronavirus is a "collective achievements" of the billion-plus Indian citizens.
"An extensive and insightful speech by Rashtrapati Ji, which talks about India's developmental strides and reflects the collective vision of 130 crore Indians to take our nation to newer heights in the times to come," PM Modi tweeted.
President Kovind said that 80 percent of the farmers in the country are small farmers, who have an important contribution in the development of the country and that the policies introduced by his government have given top priority to the poor and marginalised sections of society.
The President said that this is the third year of the global pandemic caused by Covid-19, during which the proof of India's capability in the fight against the virus has been seen in country's vaccination program.
