Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with healthcare workers and beneficiaries of the COVID vaccination program in Himachal Pradesh, via video conferencing on Monday. PM Modi congratulated the state for achieving the fastest record of 100 per cent first dose Covid vaccination in the country. PM also hailed the state government's efforts to run a fast-paced vaccination drive.
PM Modi also emphasized on the fact that Himachal Pradesh achieved the milestone with zero vaccine wastage.
While interacting with Dr Rahul, posted at the Dodra Kwar Civil Hospital in Shimla district, Modi said 10 per cent of the expenditure can be saved if all 11 shots in a single vial are used while administering Covid vaccines.
PM said, "Himachal Pradesh has emerged as a champion. It became the first state to vaccinate 100% population of its eligible population with the first dose & one-third of the population with the second dose."
While interacting with a beneficiary, Dayal Singh from Thunag-Mandil, PM Modi said, "I have seen that all the staff members including doctors, nurses & others have worked in a team to carry out the vaccination drive. We must not show leniency of any kind to complete the vaccination drive."
PM Modi also said that he is proud of Himachal Pradesh and he knows the state's struggle for basic facilities but today it has overcome those. PM congratulated and thanked the government and teams of Himachal.
The Prime Minister said Himachal would get the greater benefit from digital technology, especially in the field of education and health, as eminent doctors and teachers could virtually give their services.
He said the state should move forward with the mission of “chemical-free Himachal” in the next 25 years so that it could become an organic state. “I have complete faith in the youth of Himachal, women, and men that they will protect our soil against chemicals,” he said.
PM Modi also mentioned that after Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim & Dadra & Nagar Haveli have vaccinated 100% of their population with the first dose of Covid vaccines and more states are about the vaccinate their population with the first dose
