Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 73 on Sunday with wishes and greetings pouring in for the Bharatiya Janata Party leader. He was born on September 17, 1950, to a Gujarati family of Damodardas Mulchand Modi and Heeraben Modi. He is the 3rd out of the six children of Heeraben and Damodardas Modi. Several leaders wished the Prime Minister on his birthday praying for his long life and good health. Artists also greeted PM Modi in their own style while some people were seen performing ‘yagya’ on Modi’s birthday. 


President Droupadi Murmu wished for PM Modi's health and happiness on his birthday. Taking to X, she posted, "Hearty congratulations and best wishes to the Prime Minister of India Shri @narendramodi ji on his birthday. I wish that with your far-reaching vision and strong leadership, you pave the way for the overall development of India in the 'Amrit Kaal'. I pray to God that you always remain healthy and happy and continue to benefit the countrymen with your amazing leadership."






Union Home Minister Amit Shah took to X to wish PM Modi on his birthday saying it is his "privilege to serve the country under his guidance." 


"Modi ji, the architect of the new India, has worked to lay the strong foundation of a grand and self-reliant India on the basis of the ancient heritage of our country. Be it an organization or a government, we all always get inspiration from Modi ji that “national interest comes first”. It is a privilege for me to get the opportunity to serve the country under the guidance of such a unique leader," he said.

Smoke, Sand Artists Wish PM Modi A Happy Birthday 


A Cuttack-based smoke artist, Deepak Biswal made a portrait of PM Narendra Modi for his 73rd birthday.






"I have created a smoke portrait of PM Narendra Modi to wish him on his 73rd birthday...In the portrait, I have also depicted the Konark wheel, Odisha's magnificent culture & heritage. The Konark wheel was used as a backdrop by PM Modi during the G 20 Summit when he met with the leaders and it is a matter of pride for us," Biswal said.


Sand artist Sudarshan also took to a beach in Odisha’s Puri and wished the PM a happy birthday with his art. 






“On the occasion of PM Modi's birthday, we have created a special science sculpture in which we have installed 50 Konark wheels," he said. 


People in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya performed a 'yagya' on the occasion of the 73rd birthday of PM Modi.
