PM Modi Asks Ministers In Cabinet Meet To Work On Roadmap For First 100 Days, Next 5 Years

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a Cabinet meeting on Sunday, instructing ministers to outline a roadmap for the new government's first 100 days and the next five years.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister urged ministers to engage with secretaries and officials from their respective ministries to strategize the effective implementation of agendas for the initial 100 days and the next five-year period, sources told PTI.

The meeting took place a day after the Election Commission announced the schedule for the Lok Sabha polls. The Cabinet also initiated the process of notifying the dates of the seven-phase parliamentary elections by sending the Election Commission's recommendation to President Droupadi Murmu.

The first notification for the polls is slated for March 20, kickstarting the nomination process for the first phase on April 19, covering 102 seats.

Earlier in March, Prime Minister Modi and his Council of Ministers had engaged in discussions regarding the vision document for "Viksit Bharat: 2047" and formulated a comprehensive action plan for the upcoming five years.

In the meeting, PM Modi said that the government led by him would be coming back to power again, and hence, the development work should continue.

These documents, focusing on the priorities and strategies of the government, are to be submitted to the Cabinet Secretariat, reported IANS.

This roadmap for "Viksit Bharat" was developed over two years through extensive preparations, involving consultations with various stakeholders, including state governments, academia, industry bodies, civil society, and scientific organizations. Input from over 20 lakh youths was incorporated through more than 2,700 meetings, workshops, and seminars, reflecting a "whole-of-government" approach.

"More than 2,700 meetings, workshops, and seminars were held at various levels. Suggestions of more than 20 lakh youths were received," an official had said, reported PTI.
