PM Modi began his address by greeting everyone on the day of Kali Puja and highlighted the importance of West Bengal during Durga Puja. PM Modi wished the people in Bengali and paid respect to the eminent personalities of West Bengal.

- On celebrating the festival in the time of the pandemic, PM Modi said that the devotees have shown exemplary restrain. The number of people might be less but the grandeur and devotion are the same. The happiness and joy are still boundless. This is the real Bengal: PM Narendra Modi
- PM Modi emphasized on the importance of respecting women, cited the importance of worshipping Goddess Durga in the festival. PM said that now is the time to empower more and more women and BJP is actively ensuring that every woman in Bengal becomes Atamnirbhar.
- PM also focused on BJP's promise of reviving Bengal and making it 'sonar Bengal' and also mentioned the 'Purvoday' plan of BJP.
- PM also reiterated BJP's slogan of 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas' and said that Rs 8,500 crore have been approved for Kolkata’s East-West Metro for an easy commute within the state.
- PM says people have shown great restraint in celebrating Durga Puja amid Covid-19 and urges everyone to wear masks and follow social distancing during celebrations. Durga Puja reflects unity and strength of India, as well as traditions and culture of Bengal

The BJP made elaborate arrangements for the live-viewing of PM Modi's virtual address to the people. TV screens have been put up in all the 78,000 election booth areas across the state.
The prime minister also virtually inaugurated a pandal that BJP has set up in Salt Lake in Kolkata at a cultural centre run by the central government's Ministry of Culture.
