Uddhav Thackeray made a jibe at Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and called him a "sample". "We urge the Centre to recall the sample of a Governor they have sent. Please send him to some other place or an old age home." His remarks came a few days after Koshyari said at an event in Aurangabad that Chhatrapati Shivaji was "an icon of the bygone era".

"We ask all those who love Maharashtra to protest his statement, even welcome BJP members if they want to join," Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) supremo Uddhav Thackeray said.
Thackeray also called Koshyari an Amazon parcel and sought a "recall". "I request the central government to take back the Amazon parcel which they have sent in form of the Governor," he said.
He also took a dig at Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and his deputy Devendra Fadnavis. "Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is being insulted and the government is sitting silent. I do not understand who the CM is. But what will a person, who is in power with the help of Delhi, say against them," Uddhav Thackeray said.
Earlier in the day, Koshyari was called to Delhi in connection with his recent comments about Shivaji Maharaj. BJP MP Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhosale said there is a possibility of him being replaced. “I think they will replace him & they should replace him. He is creating disharmony among people at large. This is not going to stop unless a solution is provided," he said.
Following the remark, Bhosale, who is a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, wrote to President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other officials to urge that Koshyari be removed from his position since the remark didn't reflect the attitude of the country.
