New Delhi: On social media, a video of Union Minister Smriti Irani being accosted by Mahila Congress President Netta D'Souza about inflation has gone viral.
The two were on board a trip to Guwahati, and their encounter occurred when the plane landed and people began to disembark.
D'Souza spoke about growing LPG costs, to which Irani responded that the Centre has been assisting the needy via different social programmes.
“The government is giving free rations to the countrymen, free vaccines to 1.83 billion people,” Irani said in the video.
Smriti Irani kept her calm when the Mahila Congress president continued to grill the minister with questions, claiming that D'Souza was obstructing other commuters.
"Please don't lie," the minister responds when asked about the lack of cooking gas and stoves without gas.
The Union Minister can be heard stating, "I'm being accosted."
